Policy and Campaigns

A strategy for policy, communications and Campaigns has been developed for 2008-2010. To ensure that the strategy is owned and shared and therefore produces results involving all stakeholders in the region, a broad-based, participatory and interactive approach was applied to generate inputs for its formulation and design.

This was done with the view to elicit challenges and provide concrete measures that can be used to surmount identified challenges in the disability sector and to enable LCD-WARO to position itself for effective contribution to better the lot of the disabled through effective and efficient advocacy and campaigns.

All discussions and consultations were conducted within the framework of the core purpose, mission objectives and core values of LCD. The process began with consultation with the National Council of Cheshire Services in all the four intervention countries. This was followed by a harmonization workshop comprising National Cheshire Coordinators in all the four countries with staff of WARO. At this workshop, all the ideas collated from the national workshops were synchronized, firmed up and presented in a manner that will give true meaning to the educed information.
